Subvert members have until this Saturday to vote for new members to the Board to help steer this inspiring project moving forward, along with other worker-artists and the Subvert team. PAA is in a unique position to serve the Board: not only do we have practical experience of cooperative self-management and direct experience in the DIY music scene, but we stand as the only candidate with explicit anti-Zionist politics.
As the world–and the music industry along with it–slips deeper into complicity with the genocidal slaughter that has been unfolding in Palestine at the hands of Zionists and their Western backers, it is more important than ever that we maintain a strong liberation-oriented politics in all of our spaces. We aim to ensure that the beautiful idea Subvert has presented to us–a true, worker-run Bandcamp alternative–maintains a moral compass and keeps its ‘feet on the ground’ by being rooted in relationships with grassroots, progressive movements around the world.
